TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Stillman College Volleyball has set its roster and staff for the 2022 return season of the program, head coach Joel Penfield announced. Stillman College is bringing back volleyball for the fall 2022 season after the program was discontinued following the 2015 season.
Penfield will be assisted by softball assistant coach Katie Clifton, an alumna of Paul W. Bryant High School, Shelton State and Stillman. Paisley Wilson will serve as the team’s manager.
The roster will include 11 dual-sport athletes, as five returning Stillman College softball players and two members of the Stillman track and field team join the team. The team includes three dual-sport incoming freshmen, one dual-sport junior college transfer and one volleyball junior college transfer. Seven other current Stillman College students join the team as well.
Treasure Banks, a 2021 graduate of Hillcrest High School, is the Tigers’ volleyball-only transfer from Wallace Community College in Selma. She led Wallace as an outside hitter with 100 total kills and collected 21 total blocks and 10 service aces during her freshman campaign in Fall 2021. She had a match-high 17 kills against Bevill State and a match-high 18 points against Coastal Alabama East.
Anniston Jones, a 2020 graduate of Springville High School, joins Stillman’s softball and volleyball program this fall as a transfer from Southern Union Community College, where she played softball. She was a three-sport athlete at Springville.
Twin sisters TiAna and Taylor Lawrence from Weaver High School signed with Stillman in the spring to play both volleyball and softball. TiAna was a three-year, three-sport athlete at Weaver, playing softball, volleyball and basketball. Playing outside hitter and middle hitter, TiAna was a three-time All-County and All-Area selection in volleyball and was named Weaver’s offensive MVP twice. Taylor played basketball and softball at Weaver.
Grace Fjeldstad of Isabella High School is another incoming freshman playing both sports. She was a three-sport athlete for the Mustangs, including setter for the three-time area champions volleyball program and was the 2019 area tournament MVP.
