TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Stillman College honored its seniors Friday night prior to closing out its home schedule in a 3-0 loss to Talladega College. The Tigers lost the Southern States Athletic Conference match 25-12, 25-5 and 25-7.

Stillman kept Talladega within three points early in the first set, but the Tornadoes used a six-point run to pull away mid-set. While the Tigers took an early 2-0 lead in the second set, Talladega posted a 14-0 run midway through the set to help take a 2-0 lead in the match. Talladega built a 13-4 lead before Stillman called a timeout to change its lineup and give all players a chance to play in their final home match.

Nedu Evans and Mahalynn Sawyer led Talladega with eight and seven kills, respectively. Raven Clater had nine assists and Kenya Glenn had nine digs. The Tornadoes recorded five points off blocked attacks.

Stillman was schedule to play at home Saturday, Oct. 29 against Life University, but the Running Eagles forfeited their weekend matches to Blue Mountain College and Stillman. With the forfeit win, Stillman moves to 1-15 on the season, 1-13 in SSAC action.

The Tigers have a full week ahead, traveling to Brewton-Parker College on Tuesday, Nov. 1 for a 5:30 p.m. ET makeup match, and then Middle Georgia State University on Nov. 2 at 5 p.m. ET. Next weekend, Stillman will close the regular season with a trip to William Carey University on Friday and Loyola University (La.) on Saturday for a trimatch.
