PITTSBURGH – Television designations for Pitt volleyball’s schedule are finalized for the 2024 season. Pitt’s slate features a 3 p.m. home match on ESPN against nine-time NCAA Champion Stanford (Oct. 20), two games that will be broadcast on Big Ten Network and four on the ACC Network.
Pitt plays two of the Big Ten’s newest opponents in Oregon (Aug. 30) and USC (Sept. 11) on the network. The Panthers face the Ducks in the season opener and return to the west coast to play the Trojans. This is the second season in a row Pitt has played the two opponents, dropping a five-set home match to Oregon and defeating USC in a four-set match in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at the Petersen Events Center.
The Panthers face Stanford for the first time as ACC opponents and look to defeat The Cardinal for the first time in school history. The match will be played at the Fitzgerald Field House.
Pitt will take on four teams on the ACC network this season, including in-state rival Penn State and SMU at home and Louisville and Georgia Tech on the road. The Panthers defeated the Cardinals and Yellow Jackets in five sets last season. Pitt advanced to the NCAA Semifinals after defeating Louisville in a reverse sweep in front of a sold-out Fitzgerald Field House.
