Tennessee Wesleyan University – Benton Takes Home Second AAC Weekly Award

Asheville, N.C.- For the second time this indoor season, Kenny Benton took home an award from the Appalachian Athletic Conference. The sprinter was announced as the Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week by the conference on Monday. This is the second edition of the award this season.

Benton garnered the award after winning the 60m Dash and 200m Dash at the Greyhound Invitational. With his 200m Dash time of 22.27, the Sweetwater, Tenn., native had a top-five time in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). As of this writing, the senior currently has the No. 8 time in the NAIA in the 200m Dash at 21.88 (adjusted due to track size). Benton currently holds the No. 3 time in the 60m Dash.

This is the second weekly award for Benton this season. The next edition of the award will be announced on Monday, Feb. 1.
