Bowling Green, Ky.- The volleyball team was back in action at the Vette City Classic on Saturday. The team took on the University of Tennessee Southern Lady Firehawks and the Lindsey Wilson College Lady Blue Raiders on the final day of the event.

vs. UT Southern

Through the first ten points of the first set, the Lady Bulldogs trailed 7-3. Kills by Amya Sutton and Olivia Miller made the score 10-5, but the team could not pull closer in the set, falling in the first set 25-11.

In the second set, the score remained closer through the first couple of points as UT Southern only led by one point early on. A block assist by Sutton and Kali Bowie made the score 7-6 early in the second set. The team could not overtake the lead though as the opponents scored seven straight points to move ahead 14-6. The team was not able to come back from the deficit, falling 25-16 in the second set.

TWU led early on in the third set, taking a 3-0 lead on kills by Miller, Shante Smith, and a UT Southern error. The teams traded points over the next few minutes until a 7-7 tie was broken by the opponents. UT Southern held on to the lead, going on to win the set 25-16 and the match 3-0.

Sutton led the team with nine kills in the contest. Bolin added 12 assists for the offense.
