In a ceremony in India, the FIVB Volleyball Foundation, the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), and the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a new chapter in their collective commitment to providing opportunities for young people through sport and education.
The MoU establishes a strategic framework for upcoming projects and partnerships aimed at encouraging youth participation in volleyball and creating pathways for future development. This partnership exemplifies the shared goal of the three organisations to use sport as a vehicle for empowerment and growth across the globe.
One of the highlights of this partnership is the launch of the “Dr. Ary Graça – Dr. Samanta Scholarship”. This initiative will provide one or two volleyball athletes with full sponsorship as they pursue a bachelor’s or master’s degree. The scholarship is designed as a post-career educational opportunity for volleyball and beach volleyball players, covering essential such as lodging, boarding, and tuition fees.
The programme underlines the belief that sport continues long after athletes finish their playing career. Sport also opens doors to long-term educational and career opportunities.
