TEMPE – Sun Devil Volleyball has signed three for the 2024 season, as announced by head coach JJ Van Niel: Bella Faria, Lauryn Johnson and Jaydn Wilgus.
“We are very excited to welcome Bella, Lauryn, and Jadyn into the Sun Devil family,” head coach JJ Van Niel said. “All three are strong athletes who have experienced great success at both the high school and club levels. They complement our returning roster really well and should enhance our culture as we continue to push to new heights.”
Bella Faria | 5-9 | Outside Hitter | Springfield, Mo. | Kickapoo HS
- 2023 AVCA Second Team All-American
- 2023 AVCA All-Region 6 Team
- Was on the 2021 and 2022 AVCA Phenom Watch List
- Her team was the 2022 Class 5 State Runner-up
- 2021 and 2022 Class 5 Missouri All-State team
- 2021 and 2022 Class 5 All-District team
- Her parents are Steve and Connie and she has three older siblings
Lauryn Johnson | 6-0 | Pin Hitter | Salem, Ore. | West Salem HS
- Was on the 1st Team all conference in 2022 and 2023
- Played club for North Pacific Juniors
- Her parents are Shannon and Brianna and she has two siblings
- Her dad played football at Portland State and Western Oregon University
Jadyn Wilgus | 6-2 | Middle Blocker | Austin, Texas | Rouse HS

- American Statesman All-Central Texas Volleyball Team
- 2022 25-5A District Offensive Player of the Year
- 2020, 2021, and 2022 Under Armour Watch List

- Her parents are John and Brigit and she has three older siblings
- Her dad played basketball at Central Connecticut University and overseas professionally in Germany and England
- Her brother played basketball at Lamar University and overseas for the Cangrejeros de Santurce in Puerto Rico
