Tigers Fall in Five Sets

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Despite facing an early deficit, the University of Missouri volleyball team late comeback proved not enough in defeat to South Dakota, 2-3, in the Tigers’ closing match of the Coyote Invitational in Vermillion, S.D.

Mizzou (1-2) dropped the opening two sets by 15-25 and 22-25 margins before surging back to win two-straight sets, 25-16, 25-21. The Tigers ultimately fell in the fifth set 13-15. Sophomore Kaylee Cox led the offensive attack with 18 kills, sophomore Jordan Iliff contributed 15 kills and senior Anna Dixon and freshman Madilyn Sell rounded out the four Tigers in double-digits with 10.

For South Dakota (2-1), Elizabeth Juhnke had 22 kills and Evelyn Diedrich contributed 13.
