Trojans Lead Nation and Set Program-Best with Four CoSIDA Awards

UPLAND, Ind. – The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) has announced the 2021 Academic All-District award-winners for each of the three NCAA divisions and the NAIA, and the Taylor University volleyball team secured four spots on the list.

Grace Isaacs, Karli Ware, Ryan Czerniak, and Kacy Bragg were the four Trojans to make the list, fueling Taylor to the largest collection of All-District awards in the nation across all four levels of competition, a mark only matched by West Florida.

Taylor’s four All-District awards were not only good enough to lead the nation in the 2021 season, but the bundle was also good enough to establish a new program-best.

Trojan student-athletes landed four of the eight available spots on the NAIA District 2 list, which consists of schools from Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

For senior middle-hitter, Grace Isaacs, this year’s honor marks the second CoSIDA Academic All-District award of her career. An exercise science major with a 3.34 GPA, Isaacs led the team with 103 total blocks and struck the team’s third-most kills with 280. The Highland Heights, Kentucky, native ranked third in the Crossroads League in blocks, a mark worthy of an Honorable-Mention All-Crossroads League recognition.

Junior, Karli Ware, earned the first CoSIDA Academic All-District award of her career. A health science major with a solid 3.73 GPA, Ware played in each of Taylor’s 34 matches. Ware played an essential role in the Trojan lineup, executing 208 digs on the season in tandem with 28 service aces, all the while only making seven total errors.

Ryan Czerniak, a senior from Pittsboro, Indiana, also received the second CoSIDA All-District award of her career. A human physiology and preventative medicine major with an impressive 3.86 GPA, Czerniak embodied a fierce presence on the court, striking 368 kills with a remarkable hitting percentage of .318. Taylor’s right-side hitter was fifth in the league in kills, a mark good enough to earn her a spot on the Second-Team All-Crossroads League team.

Lastly, Kacy Bragg picked up her second CoSIDA All-District award as a Trojan. A psychology major, who maintained a 3.83 GPA in the classroom, showed out on the court in the 2021 season. Bragg led the Crossroads League with 1,278 assists on…
