NAIA Coaches’ Top-25 Poll

KANSAS CITY – The NAIA released its latest women’s volleyball top-25 national poll on Wednesday, and the Taylor Trojans climbed yet another rank in the ratings to the No. 12 spot in the land.

No. 12 marks the highest national rank for Taylor volleyball since 2011, when the Trojans reached the No. 11 spot in the nation. Taylor now owns the highest national rank among Crossroads League teams in 2022, with Indiana Wesleyan falling to No. 17 and Marian sitting at No. 15.

Since the last poll was released on September 28, Taylor has gone 3-1, including a win over Marian in four sets. Throughout that stretch of play, Ryan Czerniak and Kacy Bragg continued to lead the Trojans by enacting their craft on offense.

Throughout the last four matches, Czerniak has averaged 3.55 kills-per-set and maintained a .405 hitting percentage, while Bragg has posted 12.43 assists-per-set. TU’s senior setter continues to lead the league and the nation with 1,016 total assists on the season, meanwhile ranking sixth in the nation with a season-average of 11.04 assists-per-set. On the flip side of Bragg’s assists has so often been TU’s lefty right-side hitter, who continues to lead the nation with a .427 hitting percentage while ranking eighth in total kills.

On the defensive side of the game, middle-hitter, Grace Ieremia, has embodied a dominant presence of late. Since September 28, the Florida native has sent back an average of 1.64 blocks-per-set, which boosts her season total to the nation’s sixth-most 104 blocks.

Thanks in large part to this trio of Trojans, Taylor ranks fourth in the nation as a team with 1,224 kills and 1,136 assists, while ranking sixth in the nation with a team hitting percentage of .250 and a total of 201 blocks.

No. 12 Taylor (20-5, 9-2 CL) will look to continue this strong flow of play later Wednesday evening, when the Trojans square up with Grace (8-14, 3-8 CL) on the road at 7:00 pm.
