Two Gators Named to USA Volleyball U-21 National Team

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The USA Volleyball Team announced its 12-player U-21 National Team roster and two Gators found themselves on the team set to compete at the Pan American Cup.
 
Gabrielle Essix and Alexis Stucky were the two Gators selected to the 12-woman roster after training for the last week at the Anaheim National Team Training Center. The two selections were tied with Baylor, Purdue and Texas for the most players selected of any school.
 
Freshman Kennedy Martin was selected as one of six alternates for the 2023 U21 roster as well.
 
Dan Fisher, women’s volleyball head coach at the University of Pittsburgh, is the U21 head coach. He is joined by his assistants Josh Walker (Baylor) and Jessica Aschenbrenner. (Colorado State).
 
Stucky was a member of the U21 National Team that won gold at the 2022 Pan American Cup, while Essix also has national team experience, having been selected to participate with the 2022 Team USA Collegiate National Training Team.
 
The U.S. Women will open the Pan American Cup with pool play against Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and Guatemala. The other pool will include Belize, Cuba, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
