EUGENE, Ore. – Head coach Matt Ulmer and the Oregon volleyball program added three prep standouts Wednesday with the start of the national signing period. The newest Ducks are Cristin Cline (Stanfield, N.C.), Noemie Glover (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.) and Becca Kelley (Rockwall, Texas).
As part of the 25-player team for the Class of 2023, all three UO signees were named to the 2022 Junior Volleyball Association (JVA) All-National Team.
Cristin Cline
S | 5-11 | Stanfield, N.C.
Hickory Grove Christian School / CUVC
Playing with the Carolina Union Volleyball Club (CUVC), Cline helped her 17 Premier team finish fourth in the Gold bracket at the 2022 Big South Qualifier in Atlanta and earn a USAV Open bid. Cline and CUVC won three of their last four matches at the 2022 USAV Girls Junior National Championship, finishing tied for 27th overall in 17 Open.
Cline began her prep career at West Stanly High School where she helped the Colts to a 23-4 record and a trip to the second round of the 2019 North Carolina 2A State Tournament. She was third on the team with 188 kills (2.11 k/s) and had 35 service aces.
Ulmer on Cline: “Cris has all of the tools to become a very successful setter. She has some of the fastest feet I’ve seen, a quick jump and smooth hands. Her personality and work ethic are contagious. She is an excellent communicator and I have no doubt that she will be a great leader during her Oregon career.”
Noemie Glover
OPP | 6-2 | Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.
Cathedral Catholic HS
Playing for the No. 1-ranked prep team in the nation, Glover helped Cathedral Catholic High School win the San Diego Section title. She had five kills and five blocks in the straight-set win over Torrey Pines. In the final of the GEICO Volleyball Invitational (Oct. 8), Glover had eight kills for the Dons in a victory over Papillion-La Vista South (Neb.).
Glover plays for Coast Volleyball, and last year as a member of Coast 17-1, she helped the club to a third-place finish in 18 Open at the AAU Girls National Championships in Orlando.
Ulmer on Glover: “Noemie is a big, point-scoring threat at the opposite position. She has a wicked lefty swing that brings a lot of power. Her block is intimidating and she has a tough, competitive spirit. I love the energy that Noemie plays with and the joy she brings to her teams.”
