USI Volleyball lands four athletes on CSC Academic All-District


EVANSVILLE, Ind.- College Sports Communicators announced on Tuesday afternoon that four University of Southern Indiana Volleyball Screaming Eagles made the Academic All-District list for the 2024 season. Graduate senior Jasmine Green, senior Carly Sobieralski, junior Keira Moore and sophomore Ashby Willis each achieved the academic and athletic status criteria of this impressive award.

To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District Award, the student-athlete must be a starter or an important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials and at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale). They must have reached a sophomore athletic and academic standing at the institution and must have completed at least one full academic year at the institution.

 

Green, a graduate student in health science and administration, lands the CSC Academic All-District accolade in her lone season with the Eagles. Green made an immediate impact on and off the court upon arrival to campus emerging as the team leader after spending four years at Bradley University. The graduate senior eclipsed 200 kills for the second time in her career with 242, marking a career high in kills per set at 2.67. Green recorded her career high in kills in her second match as a Screaming Eagle with 19 against Depaul University. She finishes her career passing the illustrious 500 kill mark with 572 between Bradley and USI.

 

Sobieralski, a business administration and marketing major, lands her second straight CSC Academic All-District accolade. USI’s setter had another stellar season to conclude her career becoming the ninth Eagle to surpass 2,000 career assists, along with finishing in fifth all-time with 2,876 career dimes. Sobieralski crossed 1,000 season assists for the second year in a row with 1,097, marking a career best in assists per set at 9.97. The senior contributed a career high defensively with 387 career digs, finishing with 976 for her career. Sobieralski was a double-double machine with 25 on the season in 30 matches, along with adding her fourth career OVC Setter of the Week accolade to her resume.

 

Moore, a psychology and criminal justice major, lands her second CSC Academic All-District honor in two years of being eligible for the award. Moore also made history joining the USI history books as the 15th Screaming…
