AUSTIN, Texas — UCLA graduate student Abby Van Winkle has been named 2022-23 Second Team College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America® Women’s At-Large Team as selected and announced today by the CSC. The award recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom.
Van Winkle became UCLA Beach Volleyball’s all-time leader in career wins during the 2023 season, finishing with an overall record of 128-34. A native of San Clemente, Calif., she is a two-time AVCA All-America selection and was named to the second team in 2023. An AVCA Top Flight Award recipient from court two this year, Van Winkle was named the 2023 Pac-12 Beach Volleyball Scholar Athlete of the Year and was named first-team All-Pac-12 for the second time in her collegiate career.
