Vanuatu to set the example, as World ParaVolley's new VP seeks to grow the sport in more Pacific nations and push for Olympic recognition

The sport of paravolleyball has a new flag bearer in the Pacific, after the President of the Vanuatu Volleyball Federation, Debbie Masauvakalo, was appointed as Vice-President of World ParaVolley.

And now her aim is see the sport grow and develop across the Pacific, using the Vanuatu experience as the example for others to follow.

Right now Vanuatu is the only Pacific nation with an established paravolley programme, with variations played indoors and on the beach.

With eight years to go before the Paralympics on the Pacific’s doorstep in Brisbane, the new vice-president is optimistic that all three paravolley disciplines will be represented at the games, and that several Pacific teams will compete.
