Volleyball Adds Brittney Kimball, Shea Decker-Jacoby to Support Staff

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State head volleyball coach Leah Johnson announced the addition of Brittney Kimball and Shea Decker-Jacoby to the volleyball support staff on Friday. Kimball joins as the team’s brand ambassador, while Decker-Jacoby will serve as technical coordinator.

“We’re excited to add Brittney and Shea to our staff,” Johnson said. “Brittney’s role as brand ambassador is the first of its kind for our program and will be crucial as we increase our program’s already strong brand awareness nationally. As technical coordinator, Shea will play an important role in the day-to-day statistical analysis of our team, breaking down our opponents on film and developing scouting reports.”

A 2017 graduate of Michigan State with a bachelor’s degree in Media and Information, Kimball joins the volleyball program after four years at the Big Ten Network where she worked as an on-campus digital content producer creating social media content centered around Michigan State’s 21 varsity sports. Kimball previously worked in Michigan State’s Spartan Vision office as a camera operator and live show producer, helping execute live in-house events. As brand ambassador, Kimball will shift her creative efforts solely to the volleyball program, creating thoughtful content that tells the story of the program while increasing the team’s already strong brand at a national level.

Decker-Jacoby joins Michigan State as technical coordinator after previously working in the same role as a volunteer at Virginia and George Mason. As technical coordinator Decker-Jacoby will handle the program’s live match coding and statistical analysis, while also overseeing video operations. A 2019 graduate of Brandeis University, Decker-Jacoby was a four-year starter for the Judges, wrapping up her collegiate career ranked in the program’s top 15 for kills, kills per set and total matches played. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Decker-Jacoby earned her master’s degree specializing in Professional and Collegiate Operations from New York University.

The 2022 Spartan volleyball season kicks off with the Green & White scrimmage on Tuesday, August 23 before the Spartans host Louisiana, Eastern Michigan and Fairfield at the Auto Owners Insurance Spartan Invitational on Friday and Saturday, August 26-27.
