Volleyball Announces Additions Of Zinger And Neelon To Staff

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina head coach Joe Sagula has announced the additions of volunteer assistant coach Emily Zinger and technical coordinator Meghan Neelon to his staff on Wednesday. Both Zinger and Neelon are former Carolina volleyball players who spent the 2021 season with the Tar Heels.

Prior to her arrival in North Carolina, Zinger played both indoor and beach volleyball at the University of San Francisco. In the season and a half she played for the Tar Heels, the Little Elm, native, appeared in 31 matches and 111 sets, tallying 214 kills, 82 total blocks and 62 digs.

Zinger is currently in her second year of graduate school, pursing a master’s degree in exercise physiology.

Neelon, a 2021 graduate of the University of Alabama, played her final season of college volleyball with Carolina in 2021 as the team’s starting setter. The Buffalo, N.Y., native, who will serve at the Tar Heels’ technical coordinator this season, tallied nearly 1,000 assists and 25 blocks last season, running the Carolina offense.

Neelon is currently pursuing her master’s degree in sports administration from UNC.
