FORTH WORTH, Texas – Alabama volleyball dropped its two Friday matches at the Horned Frog Invitational, falling to Louisiana in three sets and TCU in four.
Alabama (5-6) fell behind to an early 8-0 deficit in the opening set against Louisiana (5-3) and the Ragin’ Cajuns controlled the pace for the majority of the match, sweeping the Crimson Tide in three sets. In the nightcap against tournament host TCU (4-5), the opening set saw 11 set points before an ace from Brooke Slusser eventually capped the lengthy 35-33 win for Alabama. The Horned Frogs rebounded with an 11-point win in the second set, edged out a close 25-23 win in the third before closing it out with a 25-16 decision in the fourth.
Kendyl Reaugh and Alyiah Wells were neck-and-neck for the team lead in kills with 26 and 24, respectively, combined between the two matches. Brooke Slusser led the team with 70 assists and 22 digs, notching double-doubles in both matches. Sophomore Maddy McCormick made her season debut for the Tide, earning six kills on 16 swings seeing time in both matches.

- The 35 points scored in the opening set win for Alabama against TCU is the most since Oct. 28, 2015 against Missouri
- With double-doubles in both matches today, Brooke Slusser has now done so in four-straight matches
- Sophomore transfer Maddy McCormick made her debut for the Crimson Tide Friday, appearing in both matches and scoring six kills on 16 attacks
