First-year Shannon McGrath overcame a slow start to finish with a team-leading 12 kills with only one error (.306 hitting), and added 11 digs for her third double-double of the season. First-year Georgia Pool tied for the match high with 17 digs and senior Haley Kresch added a team-leading 25 assists as well for Union (6-5, 0-1 Liberty League).

St. Lawrence stormed out of the gates in the second stanza with a 13-2 run to take a two-set lead, but Union battled back in the third. The home team scored seven of the first nine points to gain an early advantage, and did not back down when SLU got within two at 11-9, with three straight kills by McGrath, senior Julia Webster and Page killing the momentum. Four points on the serve of junior Brooke Fleming – including a pair of aces – helped Union force a fourth set.
