Volleyball Conquers Indiana in Straight Sets

RALEIGH – NC State volleyball opened the second weekend of the NC State Classic on Thursday night with a commanding 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-18) win over Indiana in Reynolds Coliseum.

 

Multiple members of the Wolfpack posted season highs in different categories, including roommates Vanja Bukilic and Martyna Leoniak tallying 13 and 12 kills.
 

Set One (25-23)

After falling behind early in the opening frame the Pack used a six-point rally to gain a 22-19 advantage, cruising to a 25-23 win to gain a 1-0 set lead.

 

Set Two (25-23)

A quick start for the Wolfpack was met by a late rally from the Hoosiers in the middle set, with Indiana cleaning up a six-point deficit to tie the score 23-23. NC State finished the frame with back-to-back points to secure a 25-23 win, picking up momentum heading into the final set.


Set Three (25-18)

The Pack finished off a dominant win with a seven-point victory in the final set, getting out to a quick 4-0 lead and never trailing from that point forward, giving 17 NC State players the chance to see game action.


Next Up

The Pack is set to host a double-header on Friday against Western Carolina and TCU, with both games taking place in Reynolds Coliseum starting at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m..
