Swarthmore

The Muhlenberg volleyball team dropped a pair of matches at home, losing to Dickinson in three sets and Stevenson in four.

The Mules (7-6, 0-1), who swept each of their first three matches in Memorial Hall, never led by more than two points in their Centennial Conference opener against Dickinson. The Red Devils (6-4, 1-0) jumped out to a 16-7 lead in the first set and remained in control for the entire match.

Sophomore Esmae Oehler led the attack against Dickinson with 14 kills, while senior Emma Eglinton handed out 24 assists.

After Stevenson swept Dickinson, the Mules returned to the court for their second match of the day and dropped the first two sets to the 13-1 Mustangs, who received 38 votes in this week’s Division III poll.

Muhlenberg came back to take the third set, 25-20, before Stevenson wrapped up the match in the fourth, 25-15.

Oehler (12 kills, 11 digs) and Eglinton (22 assists, 14 digs) both recorded double-doubles, and junior Alyssa Faville pulled up 20 digs. Sophomore Rachel Jacobs (pictured above) had 8 kills.
