Volleyball Falls After Tough Battle in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The NC State volleyball team fell to No. 24 Arkansas, 3-1 (18-25, 19-25, 26-24, 20-25) Friday evening in its final non-conference match.

Freshman outside hitter Ava Brizard tallied 15 kills on the evening.

Sophomore Jada Allen recorded a career high 10 blocks for the Pack, many of which came in the fourth set.

Graduate Libero Priscilla Hernandez tallied 22 digs.

Set One (18-25)
After a back and forth start, the Pack struggled to gain momentum. Arkansas went on a six point scoring-run to lead, 20-14 over the Pack. NC State capitalized on multiple errors by the Razorbacks to make it a two point deficit. Arkansas ended up on top after scoring three straight. 

Set Two (19-25)
The Razorbacks took an early 5-1 lead over the Wolfpack. Despite the Pack’s efforts to minimize Arkansas’ lead, the Razorbacks took the set. 

Set Three (26-24)
The Pack struggled to gain momentum as the Razorbacks scored five straight. Madison Williams was a game changer for the Pack as she recorded two kills and a huge block in the set to bring NC State within one of the Razorbacks. The Pack took three straight points to shock the Razorbacks and take set three. 

Set Four (20-25)
The Pack took the momentum from the end of the third set and used it to take an 8-6 lead over the Razorbacks. Vanja Bukilic and Allen tallied a number of blocks to help the Pack maintain the lead. After tying the set 10-10, the Razorbacks managed to take the lead. NC State attempted to regain the…
