Volleyball Falls to Indiana in Four

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State volleyball looked to complete another reverse sweep on Friday afternoon but came up short losing to Indiana by a final score of 3-1 (25-22, 25-13, 21-25, 25-10) at the Breslin Center.
 
“We had a couple of rotations today where we couldn’t score points and it came down to execution,” said Michigan State head volleyball coach Leah Johnson. “Hopefully there is more of a nothing to lose mentality tomorrow night against Purdue. I want to see us end on a high note and send our senior Amani McArthur out the right way.”
 
Michigan State moves to 17-13 overall and 9-10 overall in B1G action, while Indiana improves to 20-12 overall and 10-9 in conference play.
 

 The Spartans were led by 13 kills for freshman outside hitter Taylah Holdem, who added eight digs to her final tally. Junior outside hitter Grace Kelly added seven, while junior opposite Aliyah Moore tallied six. Fifth-year middle block Amani McArthur finished with seven kill and a team-high four blocks. Junior setter Julia Bishop led with 16 assists and senior libero Nalani Iosia posted a team-best 12 digs.
 
A back-and-forth start to set one saw the Spartans trailing by just two, 12-10, but a 5-1 run opened things up in favor of the Hoosiers who took a 17-11 lead.
