CAZENOVIA, N.Y. – The Union College women’s volleyball team finished off an undefeated weekend with a pair of wins on Saturday’s second day of the Cazenovia Invitational at Schneweiss Athletic Center. Union started the day with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-17) sweep of Cazenovia College, then came back from a set down to defeat Mount St. Mary College by a 3-1 (22-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-19) score.
First-year Shannon McGrath had another big day to lead Union (3-0), putting down a team-best 25 kills and chipping in 22 digs. Classmate Georgia Pool recorded a team-leading 24 digs in seven sets, while senior Julia Webster registered seven blocks to lead Union at the net.

Union hit well in the first match of the day, putting down 33 kills with only eight errors for a .287 hitting percentage in a straight-set win over the host Wildcats.
McGrath led the team with nine kills on 23 attempts and also tied for the team lead with seven digs and three service aces. Junior Keara Page and sophomore Farah Elgala each added six kills, while Webster put down five of her nine errorless attempts (.556) as part of a well-balanced attack in addition to a match-high four blocks.
Union hit .333 on the way to an opening-set win, putting down 10 kills with just two errors. With the set tied at six, Union scored six of the next seven points to take the lead for good. McGrath and Webster recorded three kills apiece for Union in the stanza.
