TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Volleyball head coach has announced that Brandon Chan will join the team as an assistant coach. Chan joins Arizona’s staff after spending the past three years as the associate head coach at Dartmouth.
“I am happy to announce that Brandon Chan has been hired as the assistant coach for the Indoor Volleyball team,” head coach Dave Rubio said. “Brandon returns to his alma mater after spending three years as the associate head coach at Dartmouth and two years at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Brandon brings a vast knowledge of the game along with an endless supply of energy. Brandon started out as a student manager for my volleyball team and has spent the last several years honing his craft. He will be a great addition to our staff.”
At Dartmouth, Chan coached two second-team All-Ivy League athletes and one Academic All-Ivy player. With Chan on staff, the Big Green improved from a last place finish in the Ivy League in 2019 to a third-place finish in 2021.
Prior to joining Dartmouth Women’s Volleyball, Chan was a volunteer assistant coach for Arizona beach volleyball from 2017-19. He helped the beach volleyball team finish in the AVCA Top 25 each season he was on staff. The 2019 squad set a program record for wins with a 25-6 record and finished the season ranked No. 12 by the AVCA.
Chan’s coaching career began at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, helping the Islanders to the NCAA Tournament after going undefeated in the regular season in 2015.
Chan graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in psychology in 2015 and was a manager for Coach Rubio during his time as an undergraduate.
