Muhlenberg dropped its first set of the season vs. Nazareth before winning the next two by identical 25-21 scores. Nazareth took the fourth set, 25-20, sending the Mules to a five-setter in their opener for the third time in the last four seasons.

In the decisive fifth set, Muhlenberg trailed 4-1 before going on a 7-0 run. The Golden Flyers came back with a run of their own to take a 10-9 lead before back-to-back kills by Marcin put the Mules back on top, 11-10.

The set was tied, 13-13, before consecutive kills by sophomore Esmae Oehler and Marcin clinched the match for the Mules.

Junior Alyssa Faville, who assisted on the match-ending kill, finished with 21 digs.

Muhlenberg split the first two sets with Scranton and was tied in the third, 19-19, before the Royals closed out the set, 25-22. Scranton jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the fourth set and went on to win, 25-16.
