COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri volleyball team will open its spring campaign Saturday at Missouri-Kansas City. The Tigers will play four matches at the Swinney Rec Center, 5030 Holmes Street in Kansas City, Missouri.
Mizzou will face Creighton, Rockhurst, Wichita State and host, Kansas City, over Saturday. All competitions will be open to the public and free admission.
Missouri will start the day at 10:15 a.m., CT with a match against Creighton on court two. The Tigers follow that with a match against Rockhurst on court three at 11:30 a.m., CT.
After a lunch break, Mizzou will continue play at 1 p.m., CT against Wichita State on court four. The Tigers will finish the day against Kansas City on court three at 2:15 p.m., CT.
Saturday marks the first spring competition for MU in 2024.
Mizzou went 18-13 in 2023 under the direction of first-year head coach and SEC Coach of the Year, Dawn Sullivan. Missouri made its 18th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history and first appearance since 2020 this past fall.
The Tigers return a trio of All-SEC performers including Libero of the Year Maya Sands along with six-rotation right side hitter Jordan Iliff and setter Sierra Dudley. Sands and Iliff also earned 2023 AVCA Southeast All-Region laurels.
Mizzou has also inked four transfers during the spring in Regan Haith, Alayna Pearson, Marina Crownover and Mychael Vernon to go with five freshman that signed this past November.
LOOKING AHEAD
- Missouri continues its 2024 spring schedule with a pair of contests in Lawrence, Kansas, on April 13. The Tigers will face Kansas and Wichita State at Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena, 1550 Allen Fieldhouse Drive.
