CLEMSON, S.C. – Head Coach Jackie Simpson Kirr and the Clemson volleyball team revealed the 2023 30-game schedule on Monday. The schedule features 12 non-conference matches and 18 ACC contests, while taking on 10 opponents that made a postseason appearance in 2022.
All regular season matches inside Jervey Gym are general admission seating and free to the general public. Dates and opponents are subject to change. The Clemson volleyball broadcast schedule is expected to be announced at a later date. The 2023 season marks the final season inside the current Jervey Gym before construction begins to update and re-allocate more than 14,000 square feet of space. Coming off an NIVC appearance in 2022, the Tigers will open their season with the Orange vs. Purple scrimmage inside Jervey Gym on Aug. 12 at 1 p.m. before hitting the road for an exhibition match at Georgia on Saturday, Aug. 19. The regular season starts the following week when Clemson hosts the Big Orange Bash on Aug. 25-27 in Jervey Gym against Middle Tennessee and Wofford. Clemson hosts the Clemson Invitational the following week by welcoming Western Carolina, South Alabama and Green Bay Sept. 1-3.
Clemson’s first true road test will come on Aug. 30 in Columbia, S.C. against South Carolina for a Palmetto State showdown. The Tigers hit the road for back-to-back tournaments the second and third week of September traveling to Gainesville, Fla. to face Florida, Winthrop and Sacramento State Sept. 7-9, and traveling to New Orleans, La. To take on Tulane, Houston Christian and UTEP.
The Tigers will open ACC action on Sept. 20 inside Jervey Gym against Georgia Tech before welcoming NC State to town on Sept. 22. Other home ACC matches include Virginia Tech (Oct. 1), Miami (Oct. 13), Florida State (Oct. 15), North Carolina (Oct. 20) and Duke (Oct. 22). Clemson will play its final two matches in the current Jervey Gym on Nov. 3 against Notre Dame and on Nov. 5 against the 2022 NCAA Runner-Up, Louisville.
Clemson’s remaining nine matches are ACC road contests that begin in Winston Salem, N.C. on Sept. 29 at Wake Forest. The Tigers will also play road games at Virginia (Oct. 6), Pitt (Oct. 8), Syracuse (Oct. 27) and Boston College (Oct. 29) through the month of October. Clemson concludes the 2023 regular season on a four-game road stretch at Notre Dame (Nov. 10), NC State (Nov. 17), Duke (Nov. 19) and Virginia Tech (Nov. 22).
