Volleyball Rolls Past Truett McConnell 3-0

Cleveland, Georgia– The Brenau volleyball team used an all-around solid performance to defeat Truett McConnell (Ga.) University 3-1 (25-12, 25-10, 18-25, 25-17) in Appalachian Athletic Conference competition on Tuesday.

The Golden Tigers outhit the host Bears with a percentage of .307 to .087 and had four players post double-digit digs totals to roll to the victory. 

After cruising through the first two sets, the Bears answered with a third set victory to make the score 2-1. However, Brenau responded in the fourth set with a 25-17 win to clinch the match.

Freshman Malone Davis led the Brenau attack with a match-high 14 kills, while junior Mary Ellen Enright contributed 13 kills and 12 digs. Senior Rachel Hodges had eight kills and sophomore Chloe Bennett notched seven kills.

Defensively, Julieanne Saliba led the charge with a match-high 20 digs. Sophomore Madison Brock had a career-high 13 digs, while junior setter Gabrielle Hogle had 10 digs. Hogle also posted 30 assists. 

Brenau (13-12 overall, 8-7 AAC) next travels to Toccoa Falls (Ga.) College (5-10 overall) for a non-conference matchup on Thursday at 6:30 pm in Toccoa, Ga. The Golden Tigers previously bested the Eagles 3-0 in the team’s earlier season meeting.
