Volleyball Summer Camps Announced

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt volleyball head coach Anders Nelson announced the program’s second annual summer camps Friday. This summer’s slate offers seven different camps for individuals of all skill levels.

Nelson, defensive coordinator Russell Corbelli and offensive coordinator Lauren Plum combine for 40 seasons spent playing and coaching at the collegiate and professional level. The three coaches have been a part of 20 NCAA tournament teams—highlighted by three national championships—and have coached two national and seven conference players of the year and 36 All-Americans.

The all skills camp, held June 10-11, is designed for campers of beginner to intermediate skill levels who are entering fifth-10th grade. Campers will receive instruction on all volleyball skills including setting, serving, hitting, passing and defending. Campers will also participate in live game situations in groups with players of similar skill level. The all skills camp costs $275 per person.

Held June 12-13 and July 19-20, the collegiate prospect camp is designed for elite players who are aspiring to play at the collegiate level. Sessions will be geared toward training and developing elite skills. The environment will emulate collegiate drills and competition. This camp is recommended for players that have multiple years of high-level volleyball experience and aspire to play collegiate volleyball. It is open to individuals entering grades 8-12.  The cost of this camp is $325 per person.

The advanced skills camp is designed for campers to receive instruction on all volleyball skills including setting, serving, hitting, passing, and defending. Campers will also participate in live game situations in groups with players of similar skill level. This camp is best for individuals of intermediate skill levels entering seventh-12th grade.  It will be July 17-18 and the registration cost is $275 per camper.

Coaches will also hold skill-specific camps for hitting (July 16), passing (July 15), setting (July 15) and serving (July 15 and 16). They are open to students entering grades 5-12. The hitting, passing and setting camps are $175, and the serving camp is $65 per person.

Each Vanderbilt volleyball camp is open to any and all entrants and will be limited only by number of registrants, age and grade level, and gender.
