Volleyball Takes First Loss of Season Friday to Texas A&M Commerce


BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama volleyball rallied from a set one loss to win sets two and three for a 2-1 match lead over Texas A&M Commerce, but the Lions rebounded with wins in the fourth and fifth to hand the Crimson Tide its first loss of the season Friday afternoon at Bartow Arena.

The loss is Alabama’s (6-1) first of the season, with Texas A&M Commerce (3-7) taking the Tide to five sets for the first time since October 22 of last season against Georgia. Kendyl Reaugh led the team with 18 kills, adding 13 digs for her fourth double-double of the season while Callie Kieffer earned her second with 46 assists and 11 digs. Sydney Gholson covered plenty of ground in the back row, digging a career-best 23 balls. As a team, Alabama tied its season high with 14 service aces led by four from Reaugh.
