Volleyball to take on Utah Sunday on Pac-12 Mountain


PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State volleyball (12-6, 4-3 Pac-12) will look for a weekend split on the road on Sunday as it takes on Utah (11-7, 4-3 Pac-12) on the road in the Huntsman Center.  Sunday’s match will be televised live on Pac-12 Mountain beginning at 11 a.m. (PST).

The Cougars saw a streak of 22 consecutive wins over unranked teams snapped on Friday night in a four-set loss at Colorado.  Pia Timmer had 12 kills and Magda Jehlarova added 10 kills to go along with four blocks as Washington State fell, 3-1 (25-21, 25-17, 15-25, 25-9), at Colorado on Friday night to begin its mountain time zone road trip.  The Cougs will be looking to snap a streak of three-straight losses to Utah having last won back in 2019 in the Huntsman Center.

>> Magda Jehlarova leads the Pac-12 with 90 total blocks and is fifth in the Pac at .370 hitting (155-37-319).

>> Jehlarova moved into third all-time in WSU history earlier this season in career total blocks (510) and also tied for second all-time in career block assists (420) Friday at Colorado. Her 11 blocks against Cal were the most in program history for a three-set match and a new career-best.

>> Pia Timmer averaged 4.00 kills/set and four blocks last weekend against the Oregon schools and led the Cougars with 11 kills in Friday’s match at Colorado.
