MUNCIE, Ind. – Alabama volleyball is back on the road this weekend, traveling to Muncie, Ind., for the Ball State Tournament Sept. 9-10. The Crimson Tide will play three matches, starting with Green Bay (11 a.m. CT) and Ball State (6 p.m. CT) on Friday, Sept. 9 before concluding with Arkansas State (11 a.m. CT) on Saturday, Sept. 10.

Scouting Alabama
- Alabama enters week three with a 4-2 record after going 1-2 at last weekend’s Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup
- This week continues a 10-match road streak for the Crimson Tide, who will not play at home until Saturday, Sept. 24 against Auburn
- This weekend marks the second time Alabama has played in Muncie, Ind., previously facing off against the Cardinals on their home court on Nov. 23, 2005
- Alabama has allowed the second-lowest opponent hitting percentage in the SEC (.132)
- Abby Marjama leads the conference and is eighth nationally with 17 aces and seventh nationally averaging 0.85 aces per set
- The Tide returns 14 players from last year’s squad, including seniors Taylor Drapp, Emily Janek, Dru Kuck, Katie Shook and Alyiah Wells and fifth-year senior Abby Marjama
- Newcomers this year include freshman Micah Gryniewicz, an AVCA All-Region honoree from Chandler, Ariz., and sophomore Maddy McCormick, who played at Colorado State last season

- Alabama went 1-2 at last weekend’s Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup in Houston, Texas, falling to Orego State and Houston before closing the weekend strong with a four-set win over Central Arkansas
- For the second-straight weekend, freshman Micah Gryniewicz led the team in kills with 40 (3.33/set), including her first career double-double in the match against Oregon State
- Abby Marjama was just one kill behind Gryniewicz for the team lead and led the team with nine service aces, six of which came in the four-set win over Central Arkansas
- Emily Janek made her season debut at setter, tallying double-doubles in all three matches
- Janek also led the team in digs (41, 3.42/set) and blocks (13, 1.08/set)
