MAYVILLE, South Dakota – The Women’s Volleyball team was back in action for an away conference game at Mayville State University. The Warriors dropped the first two sets but were able to win the next two forcing a fifth set. Despite a tough battle, the Warriors lost in 5, 10-25, 15-25, 25-20, 26-24, 6-15.

The Warriors had a slow start, dropping the first two sets. The third set, the Warriors were able to find their rhythm to force a fifth set. Outside hitter, Kenzie Kidd (JR/Roscoe, IL) and right-side hitter Zoee Pond (SO/Monroe, WI) led the offense with 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Middle hitter, Abygail Wood (SR/Ankeny, IA) added seven with four block assists. Setter Kaitlyn Bakke (SR/Forest Lake, MN) recorded a double-double, with 38 assists and 13 digs.

“We are still finding our rhythm and groove, and there were moments when we did not play to our standards,” Head Coach Bri Ebenhoe said. “We are heading back to the gym on Monday to get better. Still a lot of volleyball left to be played.”

Next up for the Waldorf volleyball team is at home for a conference weekend series, Friday, October 7th against (RV) Dakota State University at 6pm. The Warriors are now 9-4 overall, 1-3 in conference.
