FOREST CITY, Iowa – The Waldorf volleyball team opened North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) conference play at home against (9)Viterbo losing in straight sets (24-26, 19-25, 23-25).

The Warriors battled hard against Viterbo, who is ranked #9 in the nation, throughout the match. Zoee Pond (Monroe, WI/Monroe HS), sophomore right side and Kenzie Kidd (Roscoe, IL/Hononegah HS), junior outside led the offense with 9 and 8 kills respectively. Kaylee Kidd (Roscoe, IL/Hononegah HS) finished the game with 11 digs. Pond also had 3 blocks. The Warriors out blocked the V-Hawks 8.5 to 7.

“I am please with our overall level of play and execution, but we can see the small things that separate use from a ranked program. We are excited to get back into the gym and get to work at being better tomorrow,” Head Coach Bri Ebenhoe said. “Our fans were incredible. The atmosphere is like nothing else in the North Star. We are going to have such a fun time with this crowd this year!”

The Warriors continue conference play next weekend at home, Friday September 23rd at 7pm against Valley City State.
