Waldorf University – Warriors Drop in 4 Against Presentation

FOREST CITY, Iowa – The Waldorf women’s volleyball team returned to their home court to play a conference game against Presentation College Thursday evening. The Warriors had an impressive 10 total team blocks, but it was not enough to beat the Saints; the Warriors lost in 4, 20-25, 25-16, 23-25, 20-25.

The Saints were in control of the first set, winning 20-25. Abygail Wood had four of the team nine kills. Macy Stratton added five digs.

Waldorf takes the second set with Kenzie Kidd and Zoee Pond having five and four kills respectively. As a team, the Warriors had three blocks.

Set three was a back and forth battle between the teams, but the Saints had 19 kills compared to Waldorf’s 11 to take the set. Wood led the offense with four kills and had three block assists.

The Warriors made a strong push towards the end of the fourth set, but it was unsuccessful in forcing a fifth set. Anna Longhenry had five kills, on seven attempts with only one error and Kidd added four kills.

Kidd finished the match with a double-double of 13 kills and 15 digs. Wood and Pond each had nine kills. Wood also led the way in blocking with six block assists and Charlotte Wright, Kaitlyn Bakke, and Zoee Pond all added four block assists. Stratton had 15 digs and three aces and Bakke had 36 assists.

The Warriors are back tomorrow evening for their last home match of the season against Mayville State at 7pm. Waldorf will be honoring their seniors after the match.
