Waldorf University – Warriors Fight Hard Against Vikings

VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The Waldorf women’s volleyball team returned to the court for a conference game against Valley City State University. The Warriors fell in four, 14-25, 20-25, 25-17, 28-30.

The Vikings came out strong taking the first two sets. The Warriors responded by taking set three. Juliet Karlen closed out the third set with three straight aces.

Waldorf carried momentum into the start of the fourth set being up 15-9. Valley City came back to tie the game at 22. The Warriors battled hard but was not able to force a fifth set.

Kenzie Kidd recorded a double-double with 15 kills and 17 digs. Zoee Pond added 11 kills. Alicia Brandt had six kills and six block assists. Defensively, Kaylee Kidd had a team high 22 digs and Alisha Schaefer added 12. Kaitlyn Bakke had 24 assists and Emma Hovenga had 18 with three aces.

Next up for the volleyball team is their final conference weekend for their regular season next week. The Warriors travel to play (16)Bellevue University on Friday, Nov. 4th at 7pm.
