SEATTLE – The Washington Beach Volleyball Team heads down to Baton Rouge, Louisiana this week after coming off an off-week. The Huskies are ranked No. 13 in the recent AVCA poll, just moving up one spot from the following week.

Washington will play three opponents Saturday, facing the host No. 5 LSU to end the day. Followed by two teams on Sunday. The Huskies will get another shot at No. 4 Florida State after a tough battle with them earlier in the season.

The Huskies will open the weekend against Spring Hill College who are currently 11-5 on the year, including a 5-0 sweep of the Nebraska Huskers.

Shortly following this match, the Huskies will face No. 4 Florida State to get another shot at taking down the reigning national runner-up. FSU is currently 16-2 on the season with their only losses coming from No. 1 TCU and No. 3 UCLA.

It will be an endurance battle on Saturday with Washington facing host LSU shortly after their previous game. LSU is currently 13-4 on the season and ranked No. 5 in the AVCA poll. LSU’s losses have also been to No. 1 TCU and No. 3 UCLA as well as No. 4 FSU.  Like the Huskies, LSU will get another shot at defeating FSU on Sunday at 8 a.m. Pacific. Kylie DeBerg and Ellie Shank are a notable No.1 pair for the tigers after beating FSU’s No.1 pair in their previous tournament.

To start off on Sunday, the Dawgs will face New Orleans who are currently 10-6 on the year. This game will be shortly followed by the Huskies facing Southern Mississippi who is currently 9-8 on the year.

This will be the Huskies first time facing LSU, Spring Hill, New Orleans and Southern Miss in program history.
