Weatherington Drafted by San Diego Mojo of the Pro Volleyball Federation


UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State senior Zoe Weatherington was drafted by the San Diego Mojo in the fifth round of the inaugural Pro Volleyball Federation Draft on Monday.
 
Weatherington was the No. 30 overall pick of the draft. A player selected needed to be at least 18 years or older on the day of the draft and defined as a college player. Athletes who met these criteria were eligible to be drafted.
 
A starter at opposite for Penn State, Weatherington helped the Nittany Lions qualify for the NCAA Tournament and advance to the Regional Semifinal in each of her two seasons in Happy Valley. She stepped up in postseason play with double-digit kills in matches against No. 15 Kansas and No. 3 Wisconsin.
 
Weatherington finished her career with 1,093 kills, 297 blocks, and 209 digs. Her 1,000th career kill came this season in front of a sold-out Rec Hall crowd against No. 1 Nebraska.
 
Career awards for Weatherington include one honorable-mention All-Pac 12 honor, one Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll award, and one Academic All-Big Ten accolade.
