Winning Streak Snapped at Four

La Crosse, WI – The Presentation College Saints fall to the 8th ranked Viterbo University V-Hawks in three sets tonight in La Crosse, WI. The loss drops the Saints to 8-18 overall and 5-5 in conference play. It also ends the four game winning streak the Saints have been on.

The Saint came out early and took a lead on the host V-Hawks in the first set. The host V-Hawks then battled back and there were four ties in the first set. Half way thru the first set the V-Hawks took control and won that set 25 – 14. For the set the Saints hit just .053% and the V-Hawks hit their lowest of the night at .325%.

In the second set there was just one lead change and one tie as the V-Hawks cruised easier in set two with the same result as set one 25-14 in favor of the host. The Saints continued to fight in the second set but just couldn’t make up the lead the V-Hawks had built up in the game. For the second set the host V-Hawks hit .462% and the Saints only hit .042%

Going into the third set down two to nothing the Saints did not give up against the 8th ranked team in the nation. The Saints did fall in set number three by a final of 19-25 for the match against the V-Hawks but never stopped fighting and working hard. The Saints hit there best of the night in set three at .086% and the V-Hawks hit .333% for the third and final set of the night.

By The Numbers…

The Saints were led again in Kills by Grace Tobin (SO/Mason City, IA) with 11, with Makynna Snow (SO/ Galt, CA) adding eight kills. Sydney Miller (SR/Battle Ground, WA) led the Saints in assist with 15 while fellow setter Olivia Corey (SO/Watertown, SD) added 11. Laura Babcock (SR/Aberdeen, SD) was the only Saint with double digit digs of 14. Maggie Heesch (SO/Watertown, SD) led the Saints with two single blocks and one block assist on the night.

Next Up…

The Saint return home next weekend to close out their home slate for the season with a Friday night 10/28 match versus 15th ranked Bellevue University on Senior night at 7:00 PM. The final home game will be Saturday 10/29 at 2:30 PM versus Dakota State University for Parents Day.
