Women's Volleyball Announces Incoming Class of 2028


SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Head women’s volleyball coach Annie DeLoid has announced members of the Union College Women’s Volleyball Class of 2028. The Garnet Chargers will be welcoming seven new members to the team for the 2024 season, with the group featuring four hitters, two setters and one libero/defensive specialist.

This year’s class is also one of the most geographically diverse groups in recent years, representing four states (Texas, Virginia, New Hampshire and Kentucky) as well as Puerto Rico.

“We are so excited to welcome this year’s recruiting class to Union,” said DeLoid. “We’ve been focusing on a championship mindset with our returning athletes, and we know this incoming group will fit in seamlessly to the culture we are building. We are looking forward to an awesome season!” 

 

Madisen Bailey

Setter

Madelyn Frederick

Defensive Specialist/Libero

McLean, Virginia

  • Four year varsity letter winner for McLean High School
  • Team captain senior year, as well as team captain for club 14s, 16s, 17s and 18s
  • All-District Honorable Mention 2023
  • Athletic Honor Roll 2020-2023

From Coach DeLoid: “Madelyn is someone who has shown a deep passion and love for Union since the beginning of her recruiting process. She possesses a lot of positive energy and will give us depth at any defensive position. We are excited to welcome Madelyn to Union!” 
 
Melody Herrin

Middle Blocker

Texas City, Texas

  • Academic All-District 2020-2023
