Women’s Volleyball Comes Up Short Twice on Saturday Afternoon

NORTHAMPTON, MASS. – The Elmira College women’s volleyball program wrapped up play at the Bonnie May Invitational on Saturday afternoon with a pair of 3-0 losses against Lasell University and Western New England University.

HOW IT HAPPENED (ELMIRA vs. LASELL):

  • Trailing 15-6 in the first set, the Purple & Gold took advantage of back-to-back attacking errors by the Lasers to pull within 15-8. A few points later, Morgan Richardson ’25 delivered a kill for EC before Makenna Clark ’25 served up an ace to trim the deficit to 17-10.
  • Despite a kill late in the opening set from Elmira’s Maddie Boucher ’24, the Lasers would notch the next two points to secure a 25-13 victory to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
  • Early in the second set, Boucher recorded a kill for the Purple & Gold off an assist from Asia Curkendall ’25 that trimmed Lasell’s lead to 5-3 before the Lasers would go on a 6-0 run. Elmira would get kills later in the set from Kayla Neer ’25 and Cassidy Ryan ’24 before another big run from Lasell.
  • Allison Hasty ’26 notched her first career kill to record the final point of the set for the Purple & Gold as Lasell would jump ahead 2-0 in the match following a 25-11 victory in set…
