THE ACTION
- Alberda’s kill gave Adelphi an 8-4 lead in the opening set before the hosts edged within 10-9 on Báez Rentas’ kill. Another Alberda kill capped a 4-0 response, but Patterson’s kill later made it 17-15. The teams combined for six straight errors at one point, with the Panthers nabbing a 21-15 lead in that time before Saint Michael’s rallied within 21-18. The final four points went to the visitors.
- Consecutive Alberda kills keyed a 3-0 run that gave Adelphi a 14-10 edge in the second set, but Orth’s service was featured in a 6-0 counter, which she started with consecutive aces. Syverson added a kill and a solo block, and the hosts led 16-14. Stanton’s kill still had her team ahead 17-15 before the Panthers tallied 10 of the final 13 points.
