Women’s Volleyball Drops Road Match to Quinnipiac

HAMDEN, CT – The Merrimack College women’s volleyball team couldn’t get past the Quinnipiac University Bobcats, loosing in three straight sets.

How It Happened
The Bobcats caught an early lead on the Warriors in the first set, putting up nine straight points. Aubrey Baker was fierce to respond, delivering two kills and a service ace to close in on the Bobcats. Merrimack kept pressure on Quinnipiac but ultimately couldn’t break through the Bobcat’s lineup, with Quinnipiac taking the set 25-22. The Bobcats would follow their first set victory with a commanding second set win, 25-10. Looking to stop the Bobcats in their tracks, the Warriors struck first and jumped to a 4-0 lead. Midway through the third set, Merrimack would add another three to make it 10-6. However, The Bobcats found their footing, tallying 11 straight points to take the lead and ultimately win the set 25-19.

The Warriors will stay on the road as they travel to Fairfield Connecticut to face the Sacred Heart University Pioneers on Saturday October 5. Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
