Women’s Volleyball Drops Senior Day Matchup With Central Connecticut

NORTH ANDOVER, MASS. – The Merrimack College women’s volleyball team lost a Northeast Conference (NEC) matchup on Saturday night against Central Connecticut State University.

Rapid Recap

  • The Blue Devils took an early six-point lead. A kill by Maalese Wallace ended the run with a kill. Hannah Webber had a kill to cut the Central Connecticut advantage to seven. The Warriors battled back to cut the lead to one after four different two-point runs. A four-point run late in the set tied it at 23 points apiece. Avery Brown and Wallace had back-to-back kills taking the lead. Both team went over the normal 25 point set, the Blue Devils were the first to get two points in a row, winning 31-29.
  • Like in the first set Central Connecticut jumped out to an early lead. Wallace once again ended the run. Later on in the set the Warriors found themselves down 13. Julz Carlat ended the run with a kill. Cate Wright had a kill late in the set, but it was not enough, Merrimack was down two sets to one.
  • The Warriors opened the third set up three. Central Connecticut battled back to take a two-point lead. Later on in the set Webber and Carlat had two kills to bring Merrimack within five. The Blue Devils scored five of the last six points to win the set and the game.
