Since the thrilling announcement of the 2024 WPV Beach ParaVolley World Championships, anticipation and interest from member nations have surged to new heights. The double-gender beach paravolley event will be held in Chongqing, China from May 30 to June 2.
World ParaVolley is delighted to witness this remarkable surge in interest as these responses underscore the universal appeal of beach paravolley as a dynamic and inclusive discipline.
In light of this escalating excitement surrounding the event, we encourage all member nations to seize the moment and secure their participation by promptly submitting their team registrations by April 15, 2024. The Final Team Entry form must be submitted by this deadline to facilitate good planning and coordination from the WPV, LOC and the participating teams.
This event presents an exceptional platform for beach paravolley athletes as we work on for its inclusion to the sport programme of Brisbane 2032.
Information about the event
Competition
The World Championships will feature a 16-team main draw competition with modified pool play followed by single elimination.
Teams
The Championships welcome 16 men’s and 16 women’s teams. The host country may enter up to 3 teams, while other countries may enter up to 2 teams each.
Where
The event will take place in Chongqing, China, at Sunshine Beach, approximately 240.56 km from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport. Participating teams will be accommodated at River & Holiday Grand Rezen Hotel Yunyang.
Team Expenses
Participating teams are responsible for various costs, including entry fees, travel, visas, and team uniforms.
Classification
Players must possess a current and valid World ParaVolley Beach ParaVolley (Standing) Classification or anticipate obtaining one at the event.
Next Steps
Teams interested in participating are required to express their interest via email to World ParaVolley and must complete and submit the Final Team Entry Form by April 15, 2024, and complete anti-doping online training by April 30, 2024. All associated team fees must be paid by May 1, 2024.
