SEATTLE– Freshman Zoey Henson added another accolade to her impressive resume as she was named CollegeVB.com Preseason Newcomer of The Year on Monday. Henson was one of six finalists for the award.
The two-time club beach volleyball national champion made an immediate impact during the fall exhibition season. Henson and Lauren Wilock earned a bid to the fall national championship and entered ranked as the No. 25 pairing in the country.
Henson also played well with Wilcock during the West Coast Championships, where they upset numerous higher-seeded teams to advance to the quarterfinals.
The 2024 campaign will open in Houston, Texas, on February 23rd and 24th. On Friday the 23rd, the Beach Dawgs take on No. 6 Louisiana State University and No. 4 Texas Christian University as part of the Third Coast College Classic Tournament.
