FOREST, Va. – The Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced their 2022-23 All-Academic Team and 113 EMU student-athletes were placed on the list.
The Royals continue their streak of at least 100 student-athletes being named to the academic team. The EMU record was set during the 2019-20 school year.
The ODAC All-Academic Team features more than 2,500 individuals for the fourth straight season. The record stands at 2,681 honorees from the 2019-20 academic year. There were 2,560 recognized in 2020-21 and 2,519 in 2021-22.
Washington and Lee once again led the conference, putting an impressive 529 student-athletes on the list, becoming the first ODAC school to surpass 500 and breaking the previous mark, also set by W&L, of 461.
Eligibility for the ODAC All-Academic Team is open to any student-athlete that competes in a conference-sponsored sport, regardless of academic class. Prospective honorees must achieve at least a 3.25 grade point average for the academic year to be considered for ODAC All-Academic Team recognition.
