WACO, Texas — Following last year’s tight race and five-set showdown in the conference championship match, defending champion Xavier is the pick to win another title in the 2022 RRAC Volleyball Preseason Poll. The Gold Nuggets’ challenger in the title match, Our Lady of the Lake, finished three points behind with three first-place votes to Xavier’s six.

Xavier went 10-1 in conference competition last year and followed it up with semifinal and final victories in the RRAC tournament. OLLU was 12-1 in league play and collected a semifinal win before closing out the season against Xavier.

Huston-Tillotson placed third in the voting after a trip to the conference semis last year. Southwest, which is coming off a 7-5 conference season, finished in fourth place followed by Jarvis Christian, Louisiana Christian and Paul Quinn. Texas A&M-Texarkana, which is launching its new volleyball program this season, placed eighth and Texas College was voted ninth.
