Bangkok, Thailand, September 15, 2022 – The FIVB Level-3 Coaches Course is now under way at the Bahrain Volleyball Development Centre in Al Manama City, Bahrain, with FIVB International Coach Instructor from Oman Mr Shihab Al-din Bin Ahmed Said Al-Riyami conducting the eight-day workshop.
The course is being held between September 12 and 19. Those attending the course are FIVB Level-2 qualified and working with a competitive team. In addition, they had to be committed to developing their technical and tactical understanding of the game and dedicated to furthering their coaching career.
A total of 22 coaches who lead their national teams and clubs in national tournaments and international events are participating in theoretical and practical sessions that involve modern methods in training and modern aspects of volleyball.
The participants include nationalities from Bahrain, Egypt, Tunisia, Kuwait, Oman, Pakistan, India, Palestine, Jordan and Sudan. The course duration is 60 hours including theoretical and practical sessions, with discussion sessions with international experienced coaches being included.
In his speech, Mr Shihab said, “Special thanks to the FIVB Development Department for this mission which emphasises on elite volleyball coaches and upgrading their knowledge in modern volleyball. Also, I would like to extend my gratitude to Bahrain Volleyball Federation and FIVB Development Centre for active efforts in hosting FIVB courses and improving coaches’ standard in Asia.
“The Level 3 prepares an experienced coach to plan, organise, deliver and evaluate a program of training sessions aimed at improving the technical and tactical performance of individual players and a team over a series of matches. Furthermore, the Level 3 is a high level and professional standard for coaches who already lead the national teams in national and international tournaments,” he added.
“This course will enable coaches to learn many aspects in training science and develop their teams in many ways. It includes planning and delivering a series of coaching sessions based on goal setting and evaluation. This is aimed at improving the performance of individual players and a team over a period.
